IET Connect - The IET Benevolent Fund

IET Connect is dedicated to helping past and present members of the Institution of Engineering and Technology* and their dependants in times of need. With the IET's Worldwide membership standing at over 154,000 individuals in 125 countries the needs of members are diverse.  

We offer information and advice, help towards the costs of care, carers' needs and disability,  redundancy and employment support and financial assistance for a wide range of purposes.  All support is tailored to help meet individual needs.

*We also help former members of the Institution of Electrical Engineers.

We provide individually tailored information, advice and financial help to IET members and their dependants, many of whom are affected by illness, disability, unemployment or bereavement.

Volunteer Local Representatives play an important part in the work we do by visiting members and dependants who apply for financial help or longer term support.

All IET Connect advice and support is free to IET members, former members, and dependants. Each year IET Connect helps hundreds of individuals and families with confidential advice, support and financial assistance.

Wherever possible, we also aim to equip people to find their own solutions to difficulties that they may be facing.

IET Connect relies on a network of IET members who are able to give a little of their time to their profession's charity. If you are a non-judgemental, a good listener and interested in helping others through personal contact, then becoming a Local Representative could be for you.

Local Representatives are the local point of contact between IET Connect and IET members and their families.
